Coming To Dunsmuir

My name is Donna, one of the owners of the Lodge. Jon & I are partners with our son, Eric Burger. I was born in Dunsmuir when it had its own hospital on the hill, East of the Sacramento River. It was the very best of childhoods having access to this fabulous pristine country and the small railroad town where families enjoyed the relaxed country life of the late 1940’s and ’50’s. Coming back, I found much that I love about Dunsmuir to be the same in many ways. Most people up here love this town, it’s history and it’s possibilities. We at Dunsmuir Lodge always urge people to come here to find out for themselves what they like about the area. If you love to ski, swim in the river, fish, go to many mountain lakes and streams and enjoy the amazing beauty of nearby area waterfalls, or go hiking or bicycle riding, this is the place! The water is pure, the air clean, and the scenery peaceful and life affirming.  Staying at Dunsmuir Lodge will assure you get some good counsel as to where to go and what to see!
